Obverse lettering IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XI CENS POT P P
(Translation: Imperator Caesar Domitianus Augustus Germanicus, Consul Undecimum, Censoria Potestate, Pater Patriae. Supreme commander (Imperator), Caesar, Domitian, emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Germans, consul for the eleventh time, holder of censorial power, father of the nation.)
Reverse description The reverse depicts three standing figures in a ceremonial scene set on a low ground line. At center, a togated figure — identified as Domitian — stands facing left, clasping hands (dextrarum iunctio) with a second togated civilian figure to the left; a lighted altar or brazier occupies the space between them. To the right stands a helmeted soldier in military dress, holding a spear or standard, acting as witness to the ceremony. The large senatorial authorization marks S and C flank the scene on left and right respectively, placed prominently in the field. The composition conveys themes of concordia, loyalty, and imperial authority.
