Reverse description The reverse depicts a Secular Games (Ludi Saeculares) sacrificial scene set on a low ground line. At the left, two togate figures — likely priests or attendants — stand facing right; at centre, a youthful figure kneels or stoops before a tree or sacred object, reaching upward, while two additional draped figures stand to the right observing the ceremony. The scene commemorates Domitian's celebration of the Ludi Saeculares in AD 88, a pivotal state religious festival held every 110 years. The legend COS XIIII LVD SAEC FEC is distributed in the upper field, with S C (Senatus Consulto) visible in the lower exergual area, authorising the issue on behalf of the Senate. The composition is characteristic of the classicising, narrative relief style employed on Flavian bronze coinage.
