| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse depicts the personification of Pietas seated left on a throne, draped and veiled, extending her right hand and holding a patera or sceptre. A small figure, likely an attendant or child, stands before her at lower left. The circumferential legend C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS P M TR POT reads around the field, with PIETAS inscribed in the lower exergue, all in Latin capitals. The style is characteristic of early Julio-Claudian imperial coinage, with careful relief modelling and a well-defined throne base. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hammered bronze production of the period. |
