| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents the large senatorial monogram S·C (Senatus Consultum) prominently displayed in the central field, struck with bold, deeply cut letters characteristic of Augustan aes coinage. Surrounding the central device, the moneyer's full titulature runs continuously in a circular legend around the coin's periphery, identifying Gaius Marcius Censorinus in his capacity as one of the tresviri monetales responsible for the production of bronze coinage. The austere, typologically simple composition reflects the reformed Augustan monetary aesthetic of 18 BC. |
