| Obverse description | Central field displays an oak wreath (corona civica), flanked on either side by a laurel branch, the whole composition rendered in low relief characteristic of Augustan hammered coinage. The corona civica, Rome's highest honour awarded for saving the lives of citizens, is depicted tied with a ribbon. The surrounding inscription reads OB CIVIS SERVATOS. The flan is broad and irregular, with the design occupying the central field without a portrait effigy, as was typical for the aes coinage issued under the tresviri monetales of this period. |

| Obverse lettering | OB CIVIS SERVATOS (Translation: Ob Civis Servatos. For saving the citizens.) |
| Reverse description | The reverse presents the large senatorial monogram SC (Senatus Consultum) prominently in the central field, surrounded by the full titulature of the moneyer rendered in circular legend. The letters S and C, denoting the authority of the Roman Senate over the bronze coinage, dominate the composition in bold relief. The surrounding legend names the tresviri monetalis Gaius Gallus Lupercus together with his full title and monetary commission. The flan is broad and somewhat irregular in shape, consistent with hammered production of the Augustan period. |
