The oak wreath, awarded to Augustus by the Senate for saving Roman citizens, is depicted in frontal view with individual leaves discernible. No portrait or bust is present on this face; the entire design is devoted to this honorific motif. The legend OB CIVIS SERVATOS is distributed around or within the wreath, referencing the award of the corona civica. The surface exhibits the characteristic irregular flan typical of early Augustan bronze coinage struck under the tresviri monetales. |

| Mô tả mặt sau | The large senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consulto) dominates the central field, rendered in bold, wide letters of considerable size relative to the flan. A circular legend naming the moneyer Gaius Cassius Celer and his office as one of the tresviri auro argento aeri flando feriundo encircles the S C, running along the periphery of the coin. The lettering is deeply incuse and arranged in the characteristic style of the Augustan monetary reform coinage of 16 BC. The overall composition reflects the standard reverse type adopted for the restored bronze coinage series issued under the authority of the tresviri monetales. The flan is broad and irregular, consistent with hammered production of this period. |
