Reverse description A short plain cross with equal arms occupies the central field, its simple form characteristic of the French-type sesino coinage. The cross extends toward but does not reach the inner beaded border that frames the design. A circular Latin religious legend surrounds the cross in the field. The coin's irregular flan and worn surfaces reflect typical hammered production of late sixteenth- and early seventeenth-century North Italian minor coinage.
