Obverse description Facing bust of Medusa (or a solar deity), rendered in archaic style, with prominent radiating rays emanating from the head filling the surrounding field. The facial features are rendered frontally in low relief with stylized hair or serpentine locks framing the face. The bust is set centrally within a plain border. The design reflects the local Italic artistic tradition of the late third century BC.
