Obverse description Central field depicts the papal tiara (triregnum) surmounting two crossed keys — the traditional emblems of the Apostolic See — rendered in Gothic relief style characteristic of mid-14th-century Avignonese coinage. The composition is bold and hieratic, filling the coin's field with strong linear engraving. A Latin legend encircles the central device along the periphery, separated by a beaded inner border. The overall design reflects the authority and spiritual sovereignty of the Avignon papacy under Innocent VI.
