| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare or wreathed head of a deity facing left, rendered in a provincial Campanian style characteristic of the Capuan mint during the Second Punic War period. The relief is moderately high with somewhat crude workmanship typical of this emergency bronze coinage. The hair is depicted in wavy locks falling behind the neck, and traces of a legend appear along the upper field. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with the hastily produced coinage of Capua following its defection to Hannibal. |
