Celsa — modern Velilla de Ebro in Aragón — was a Roman colony on the Ebro with strong Augustan loyalties, and its civic magistrates continued striking bronze under Tiberius using the duoviral and aedilician structures typical of Latin colonial administration. The aediles named here, Vetilius Buccone and Fufius, are attested nowhere else in the epigraphic record; this coin is effectively their only surviving monument.
Celsa's mint fell silent not long after Tiberius's reign, making the civic bronze series from this colony finite and geographically tight.
