| Obverse description | Laureate head of Tiberius facing right, rendered in the Roman provincial style with somewhat crude but expressive workmanship. The emperor's effigy displays a wreathed brow and simplified facial features characteristic of Hispanian municipal coinage of the Julio-Claudian period. The encircling legend TI CAESAR AVGVST runs around the periphery of the flan. The overall relief is moderately high, with the portrait occupying the majority of the coin's surface. |
