Obverse description Bare head of Tiberius facing left, rendered in profile with short, lightly striated hair. The portrait occupies the central field of the flan with a naturalistic, imperial style typical of Julio-Claudian provincial coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy reading TI CAESAR DIVI AVGVSTI F AVGVSTVS P M, identifying the emperor as son of the deified Augustus and Pontifex Maximus. The coin shows the irregular, slightly off-centre strike characteristic of hammered provincial issues from Hispania.
