Obverse description Draped and helmeted bust of Minerva facing right, rendered in high relief with a Corinthian-style helmet and flowing drapery visible at the shoulder. The portrait is executed in confident, bold style typical of Domitianic bronze coinage. The legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, reading IMP DOMIT AVG GERM COS XIIII. Minerva, the emperor Domitian's divine patron, was a recurring type on his coinage and lends the issue a strong ideological character.

Obverse lettering IMP DOMIT AVG GERM COS XIIII
(Translation: Imperator, Domitianus, Augustus, Germanicus, Consul Quartum Decimum. Supreme commander (Imperator) Domitian, emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Germans, consul for the 14th time.)
Reverse description An owl, the sacred bird of Minerva, stands facing left upon a ground line at the centre of the field, its head turned to face the viewer frontally — a hallmark pose of this Domitianic semis type. The plumage is rendered with fine detail, giving the bird a naturalistic, compact presence. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is placed in the field to either side of the owl, within a beaded border. The reverse composition is deliberately spare, allowing the owl to dominate as an emblem of Minerva's wisdom and Domitian's divine association.
