Obverse description Laureate bust of Nero facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in the idealized portrait style characteristic of the early Neronian coinage. The emperor's distinctive features — heavy jaw, thick neck, and elaborate coiffure — are visible beneath the laurel wreath. The circumferential legend IMP NERO CAESAR AVG PONT is distributed around the bust, reading clockwise. The flan is irregular in shape, a typical feature of hammered bronze coinage of this period, and the surfaces carry a dark green patina with areas of earthen encrustation.
