Reverse description A galley prow oriented to the right occupies the central field, depicted in profile with the characteristic curved stempost and ram visible at the bow, rendered in the spare, symbolic style common to Roman bronze coinage of the early second century AD. The legend is distributed around the field and in the exergue. A beaded border encircles the reverse. The senatorial authorization mark S C appears prominently in the lower field below the prow, affirming the Senate's role in issuing bronze coinage.
