| 裏面の説明 | An upright cornucopiae (horn of plenty) depicted centrally on the reverse field, richly adorned with overflowing fruits and foliage at the apex, its curved body tapering toward the base. To the left and right of the cornucopiae appear the large senatorial authority marks S and C (Senatus Consultum), flanking the central device in the field. The composition is characteristic of Flavian-period semis coinage, affirming senatorial sanction of the bronze issue. The reverse field shows considerable surface texture consistent with the hammered production technique. |

Domitian issued this semis in the opening months of his reign, a period when he was actively cultivating an association with Minerva that would define his principate. The relationship was more than ceremonial — Domitian reportedly kept a private shrine to Minerva and credited her with appearing to him in a dream warning of his eventual assassination. The semis denomination itself was already in decline by the Flavian period, and production would effectively cease within a generation.
