| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing left, rendered in the idealized Augustan portrait style. The facial features are finely modeled with a prominent brow and strong jaw. The circular legend AVGVSTVS DIVI F runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor as son of the deified Julius Caesar. The portrait is set within a plain field on a roughly circular, irregular flan characteristic of Caesaraugusta municipal bronze coinage. |
