| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in a naturalistic portrait style typical of Augustan provincial coinage. The bust is truncated at the neck and presented without drapery. The surrounding circular legend reads AVGVSTVS DIVI F, identifying the emperor as son of the deified Julius Caesar. The legends are incuse in Latin characters disposed around the periphery of the flan. The fields show the characteristic wear and irregular edge of a hammered provincial bronze issue. |
