| Beschrijving keerzijde | A horse standing left in a naturalistic pose, with head slightly lowered, rendered in simple relief typical of Thessalian provincial bronze coinage. The legend ΝΙΚΟΜΑΧΟΥ, identifying the local magistrate Nikomachos, appears in the field. The horse, sacred to Thessaly and emblematic of the region's renowned equestrian tradition, is depicted with four legs clearly visible and a compact, stocky body. The flan is irregular, and the design is slightly off-center, as is common for small hammered bronzes of this series. |
