| Beschrijving keerzijde | A kithara (lyre) depicted facing, with clearly rendered strings and a broad resonating body, standing centrally in the field. The ethnic legend ΚΕΝΤΟ to the right and ΡΙΠΙΝΩΝ to the left flanks the instrument, written in Greek characters. Six pellets, serving as the mark of value, are distributed in two groups of three on either side of the kithara in the field. The composition is characteristic of Sicilian civic bronze coinage of the late third century BC, with the reverse type directly referencing Apollo's sacred instrument. |
