| Beschrijving voorzijde | Quartered coat of arms of the della Rovere dynasty surmounted by a ducal crown, the shield displaying the dynastic quarterings including heraldic lions, an oak tree (rovere), diagonal bands, and armorial devices associated with the Duchy of Urbino. The arms are rendered in fine hammered relief within a plain field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield, reading FRANC M II VRB DVX VI ET C, identifying Francis Maria II as the sixth Duke of Urbino. The coin's edge shows characteristic irregular granulation from the hammering process. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-length figure of the Archangel Saint Michael in armour, depicted as a warrior angel standing in a triumphant pose with wings spread, trampling a vanquished demon or devil beneath his feet. In his raised right hand he holds a long lance or standard, while his left hand holds a balance scale, symbolising divine justice. The figure is rendered with considerable artistic detail in the Italian Renaissance manner, with a short military skirt (pteryges) and breastplate visible. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads · SVB · VMBRA · ALAR · TVAR ·, translating as 'Under the shadow of Thy wings', a devotional motto referencing Psalm 17:8. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Francis Maria II della Rovere ruled Urbino for nearly five decades but died without a legitimate heir in 1631, at which point the entire duchy reverted to the Papal States under Urban VIII — the last of the della Rovere line extinguished a dynasty that had held Urbino since 1508. Gold scudi of his reign were struck across a long productive period, but the duchy's mints were modest operations, and survival rates for this type remain low relative to the reign's duration.
