| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays a double-headed eagle displayed, above which two crossed keys and a sword are arranged in saltire, the traditional arms-bearing symbols of the Three Forest Cantons. Below the eagle are three heraldic shields side by side, representing Uri (bull's head), Schwyz (plain or charged), and Unterwalden, executed in the hammered relief style typical of early sixteenth-century Swiss coinage. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. A circular legend in Gothic uncial script surrounds the central device, reading the names of the three confederate cantons. |
