| Reverse description | Central field features a displayed double-headed imperial eagle with spread wings, each head surmounted by a crown and the whole topped by a larger imperial crown above. The eagle fills the circular inner field, bordered by a beaded circle. The surrounding legend reads THVRICENSIS with the date 1640 interspersed between star stops. The composition is executed in the bold, angular style typical of Swiss municipal klippe coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. |
