背面描述	Standard reverse design of Series C sceattas, featuring the so-called 'porcupine' or standard motif rendered as a highly stylised arrangement of geometric and linear elements. Two large T-shaped runic or pseudo-runic characters flank a central vertical row of pellets. A small cross pattee appears to the right. The field is bordered above and below by horizontal lines of dashes or pellets, with triangular or wedge-shaped ornaments disposed around the periphery of the irregular flan.

附加信息	Series C sceattas were almost certainly struck in Frisian territory — most likely Dorestad — rather than in England, despite being grouped with Anglo-Saxon issues. They circulated freely across the North Sea trade network at a moment when that commerce was expanding rapidly under Frisian merchant dominance. The distinction between "Frisian" and "Anglo-Saxon" coinage at this period is partly a modern convenience; contemporaries made no such clean separation. Metcalf's die studies on the series identified enough linked specimens to suggest concentrated production runs rather than continuous minting, pointing to periodic, possibly seasonal, striking tied to trading cycles at Dorestad's markets.
