| Reverse description | A bird stands to the right, perched upon the centre of a cross, with an annulet terminating each horizontal arm of the cross. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle formed by a coiled serpent or snake motif, mirroring the obverse border treatment. The composition is bold and symmetrical, executed in the angular, schematic style characteristic of Series BI sceattas. The field is plain and wholly uninscribed. The outer border consists of a raised beaded or pellet ring consistent with the hammered flan. |
