| Obverse description | Square hammered flan bearing a bold Arabic legend in multiple lines across the field, reading 'A'zam Muhammad Jalal al-Din Akbar' in the name of the Mughal emperor Akbar, struck in the name of the Kashmir ruler Muhammad Ghazi Shah. The calligraphic inscription is executed in a fluid Naskh-style script, filling the entire square flan with the royal titulature. The legends are arranged in horizontal registers occupying the full width of the die, characteristic of Kashmir sultanate coinage of this period. |
