Obverse description Central armillary sphere surmounted by a royal crown, the globe displaying a grid of meridian and parallel lines with a central shield bearing the Portuguese royal arms of five escutcheons arranged in a cross. The design is rendered in a compact, stylized manner consistent with hammered coinage of the Goa mint. The field surrounding the device is plain, with a beaded border encircling the periphery.

Reverse description A bold cross of Saint Thomas with trefoil terminals occupies the central field, dividing the surface into four quadrants. The face value '2' and denomination abbreviation 'X' (for Xerafins) appear in the upper two quadrants, while the split date '18' and '19' are inscribed in the lower two quadrants. The cross is rendered in a plain, unadorned style characteristic of hammered Goa mint issues. A beaded border frames the entire design.
