| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features three horizontal bands of Persian script arranged across the coin field, each line separated by raised borders, presenting a couplet invoking the authority of Ahmad Shah Durrani and Rao Lakhpatji. The legends are rendered in a flowing Naskh-style script and read: 'Sikka zad bar Seem wa Zar az Awj Mahi ta ba-Mah' followed by the regnal year 1169 AH. The field is filled entirely with inscription, with no representational imagery, consistent with the Islamic numismatic tradition observed in Mughal-influenced princely coinage. The overall design is characteristic of the mid-eighteenth century Kutch series struck in the name of the Durrani sovereign. |
