Obverse description Central field bears a two-line Persian couplet in Arabic script reading 'hast sultan bar salatin jehan, shahe shahan nadir sahib qiran,' meaning 'Sultan over the Sultans of the world, King of Kings Nadir, Lord of the Fortunate Conjunction of Planets.' The calligraphic legend is rendered in a bold, characteristic Afsharid hand occupying the full face of the flan. A linear border encircles the inscription field. The design reflects the grandiose royal titulature adopted by Nader Shah following his imperial proclamation.
