| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing a bold Persian-script legend in the field, reading the imperial Mughal titulature of Shah Alam II as 'Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi Shah Alam Sani' arranged in multiple registers across the coin face. The regnal year 1225 (AH) appears in Eastern Arabic numerals in the lower portion of the field. The script is rendered in a robust, somewhat irregular hand typical of provincial hammered coinage of this period, with the legends occupying nearly the entire flan. The overall style reflects the continuation of Mughal imperial coin types by subordinate princely states. |
