Obverse description Typical Mughal-style hammered rupee design bearing a multi-line Persian legend in Nastaliq script arranged in three registers across the field, separated by horizontal lines. Floral or pellet ornaments are scattered throughout the field as decorative elements. The legend identifies the issuing authority and regnal context in the tradition of Maratha princely coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly broad, characteristic of hand-struck issues of this period.
