Obverse description Central field occupied by a bold multi-line Arabic religious invocation rendered in deeply struck Nasta'liq script, reading 'Ya Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq' — an invocation to the sixth Shi'a Imam — arranged across several registers. Decorative foliate or pellet ornaments fill the interstices between the script elements, characteristic of late Zand-period die engraving. The entire central design is enclosed within a plain inner border surrounded by a prominent outer border of raised pellets (beaded border), typical of hammered Iranian coinage of this era. The flan shows natural irregularity consistent with hand-cut hammered manufacture, with the raised legends exhibiting confident, fluid calligraphy.
