| Description de l’avers | Central field occupied by a bold multi-line Arabic religious invocation rendered in deeply struck Nasta'liq script, reading 'Ya Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq' — an invocation to the sixth Shi'a Imam — arranged across several registers. Decorative foliate or pellet ornaments fill the interstices between the script elements, characteristic of late Zand-period die engraving. The entire central design is enclosed within a plain inner border surrounded by a prominent outer border of raised pellets (beaded border), typical of hammered Iranian coinage of this era. The flan shows natural irregularity consistent with hand-cut hammered manufacture, with the raised legends exhibiting confident, fluid calligraphy. |

| Description du revers | Central field bears a multi-line Persian mint and date legend in Nasta'liq script, identifying the issuing authority and place of striking. The inscription reads 'Zarb Dar al-'Ilm Shiraz' (struck at the Abode of Knowledge, Shiraz) with the AH regnal year 1203 appearing prominently at the lower portion of the field. Floral or pellet ornamental fillers occupy the spaces between script strokes, consistent with Zand dynastic coinage conventions. The design is contained within a beaded inner border, itself enclosed by a raised outer pellet border. The overall execution reflects the characteristic hammered technique of late eighteenth-century Iranian mint production at Shiraz. |
