| Obverse description | Hammered silver field bearing a multi-line Arabic-script religious invocation arranged in three bold calligraphic lines across the central area of the flan. The legend reads 'Ya Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha' (an invocation to the eighth Shia Imam), followed by the mint name 'Zarb Rasht' and the regnal year 1161 AH. The inscription is rendered in a robust naskh-style hand typical of Afsharid provincial coinage, with deeply struck strokes and irregular flan edges characteristic of hammered technique. No figurative imagery is present; the design is entirely epigraphic. |
