| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears a two-line Persian poetic couplet in nastaliq script invoking Sahib al-Zaman, the Twelfth Imam of Twelver Shi'ah Islam, asserting his sovereignty over all coinage as long as gold and silver endure. The inscription is contained within a circular frame enclosed by three concentric dotted borders, consistent with the decorative conventions of late Safavid-influenced Persian hammered coinage. The irregular flan displays characteristic die-stress striations across the field, typical of hand-struck silver rupees of this period. |
