| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hammered silver reverse displaying a prominent central Arabic legend in bold naskh/nasta'liq script, arranged in multiple registers across the field. The inscription records the mint name Herat and the regnal year 1160 AH in Eastern Arabic numerals, with a surrounding legend invoking sultanic authority in the name of Ali. A ruled horizontal cartouche separates portions of the legend, a characteristic feature of Afsharid Herat issues. Dotted ornamental fillers appear in the field, and the rim is irregular due to the hammered flan technique. |

Adel Shah's reign lasted roughly a year. He seized power following Nader Shah's assassination in June 1747, but factional violence within the Afsharid house was immediate and relentless, and he was blinded and deposed by late 1748. Herat, as a major mint city in the eastern reaches of the empire, continued striking in his name during this window — but the political chaos makes cleanly attributable examples from this mint genuinely uncommon.
The Type A designation distinguishes this issue from later die arrangements adopted as the mint adapted to successive claimants in rapid succession.
