Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of the infant Emperor Ivan VI facing right, depicted as a young child wearing a laurel wreath and an imperial mantle fastened at the shoulder with a brooch. The truncation shows elaborate drapery folds rendered in high relief. The mint mark С:П:Б (SPB) appears in the lower field beneath the bust. The encircling Cyrillic legend reads IОАННЪ III Б М IМП I САМОД ВСЕРОСС, identifying the ruler as Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia, interrupted by the bust and disposed around the entire periphery of the coin within a finely toothed border.
