| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Anna Ivanovna, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a small crown, with loose flowing locks falling to her shoulders. The empress wears an ornate bodice decorated with lace and jeweled ornaments at the neckline. A Cyrillic legend reading 'Б∙М∙АННА∙IМПЕРАТРИЦА∙IСАМОДЕРЖ∙ВСЕРОСИСКАЯ' (By the Grace of God, Anna, Empress and Autocrat of All Russia) encircles the portrait close to the rim. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style typical of early 18th-century Russian coinage. |

Upon the eagle's breast is a shield bearing the mounted St. George slaying the dragon. The eagle holds a sceptre in its right talon and an orb in its left. The Cyrillic legend 'МОНЕТА ∙ РƔБЛЬ' is distributed around the periphery, with the date '1734' appearing to the left of the eagle in the field. |
