正面描述 Full-length crowned figure of King Jean II standing facing within an ornate Gothic architectural canopy, rendered in high relief. The king is robed in a fleur-de-lis-strewn mantle and holds a sceptre surmounted by a fleur-de-lis in his right hand, while his left hand rests upon his chest. The canopy features elaborate pinnacles and traceried columns flanking the royal effigy on either side. A beaded inner border separates the central field from the circumferential Latin legend reading IOH'ES: DEI: GRA - FRANCORV': REX (Johannes, by the grace of God, King of the Franks), interrupted by a small crown at the top.

正面铭文 IOH'ES: DEI: GRA - FRANCORV': REX
背面描述 A bold floriated cross pattée at centre, its four arms dividing the field into quadrants each containing a large fleur-de-lis, the whole set within a quadrilobe of Gothic cusped arches. Each lobe of the quadrilobe is decorated with an additional fleur-de-lis motif, creating a richly ornamented field characteristic of Valois royal coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design, outside which runs the circumferential Latin legend + XP'C: VINCIT: XP'C: REGNAT: XPC: IMPERAT (Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands), a standard Christological invocation appearing on French royal gold coinage throughout the medieval period.
