Reverse description The reverse features an elaborate floriated cross pattée at centre, with a quatrefoil or rosette at its crossing, the arms terminating in trefoils and decorated with fleurs-de-lis in the angles. The central cross is set within a cusped quadrilobe frame, itself enclosed by a beaded inner circle. Four fleurs-de-lis occupy the angles between the arms of the cross within the quadrilobe. The circular Latin legend, invoking the triple sovereignty of Christ, runs between the inner and outer beaded borders in the traditional Carolingian formula.
