Obverse description Two conjoined oval cartouches, each containing a draped bust in high relief: Emperor Leopold I facing left on the left, identified by the legend LEOPOLDVS MAG. ROM. IMP. P.P., and Empress Eleonora Magdalena Theresia facing right on the right, identified by ELEONORA MAGD. THER. L.M. VX. III. The two cartouches are surmounted by an imperial crown flanked by palm and laurel branches, with a circular outer legend commemorating the double coronation at Augsburg on 9 and 26 January 1690. Ornamental scrollwork fills the lower field.
