| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Dublin coat of arms featuring three castles on a shield, flanked by two female supporters — one holding a sword and the other a set of scales — with a shamrock at the top. A scroll beneath the shield bears the Latin motto OBEDIENTIA CIVIUM URBIS FELICITAS, and the millennium dates 988–1988 appear in the lower field. The circular legend in Irish uncial script reads the three historic names of the city. |
