Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Peter I facing right, wearing armour with an elaborately decorated pauldron and a sash, rendered in the so-called 'Moscow' portrait type. The emperor's long curling hair flows behind the neck, and a classical laurel wreath crowns the head. A Cyrillic circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading from the lower left and encircling the bust within a milled border.
