| Obverse description | Laureate and armored bust of Tsar Peter I facing right, depicted with long curling hair and wearing a pearl-bordered cuirass draped with a mantle, rendered in the Western European portrait style introduced during his reign. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, with the truncation of the bust visible at the coin's lower edge. A circular Cyrillic legend surrounds the portrait along the periphery, identifying the ruler as Tsar Peter Alexeyevich, Autocrat of All Russia. The design reflects the influence of contemporary European medallic art adopted at the Russian mint in the early eighteenth century. A toothed inner border frames the legend. |
