Greek letters are visible in the field flanking the animal, consistent with a partial ethnic abbreviation of SEGESTAIWN. The design is set on a plain, unbordered flan with no exergual line. The style is typical of late Hellenistic Sicilian civic bronzes struck under Roman oversight. |
