Reverse description The reverse mirrors the concentric epigraphic arrangement of the obverse, with multiple annular bands of Kufic Arabic inscription radiating outward from a central raised pellet set within a smooth circular field. The inner band carries religious and dynastic formulae, while the outer marginal band contains the mint or date-related legend. Raised fillets delineate each zone, and the entire design is aniconic, conforming to standard Fatimid-Sicilian quarter-dinar typology. The irregular flan edge and variable striking are characteristic of hammered production.
