The effigy is rendered in bold relief in the Dutch Renaissance style. The circumferential legend, struck in Latin, runs along the outer border and terminates with the Dordrecht mint mark (rose). A beaded inner circle frames the central design. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Within a beaded inner circle, the crowned shield of Holland bearing a rampant lion to sinister is displayed prominently in the central field, the date 1631 divided to either side of the shield. The circumferential Latin motto legend encircles the design within the beaded border, all set within the distinctive square klippe flan with characteristic raised corners and unfinished edges typical of piedfort klippe presentation pieces. |
