| Obverse description | A fully armored knight on horseback gallops to the left in dynamic equestrian pose, his right arm raised and brandishing a sword. The horse is depicted in full stride, and a small lion device appears at the terminus of the encircling legend. The design closely follows the French franc à cheval tradition, rendered in the bold, linear style characteristic of mid-14th-century hammered gold coinage. The legend, incised in Gothic lettering, identifies the issuer as William, by God's grace Duke, Count, and Lord of Holland. |

| Reverse description | A floriated triple cross occupies the central field, with a quatrefoil at its center and stylized palm or fleur-de-lis motifs in each of the four angles. The entire composition is framed within a quadrilobe, with trefoil ornaments filling the exterior spandrels between the lobes. The overall design is rendered in the refined Gothic decorative style typical of 14th-century Low Countries gold coinage. The encircling legend in Gothic script invokes the triumphal Christian acclamation. |
