Reverse description Two female figures rendered in antique drapery occupy the central field: the personified Mint presents a medal to Clio, Muse of History from Greek mythology, in a neoclassical allegorical scene. A monetary pendulum is depicted in the composition, referencing the striking process. The design is adapted from the work of Andrieu and Denon (1804). The exergue bears the dates 1789 and 1989, commemorating the bicentennial of the French Revolution. Mint differents for the Paris Mint — the Laleta mark and the horn hallmark — are present in the field.
